Desan Shipyard, owned by the Kaptanoğlu Group, which has been serving the maritime industry for more than a century, took part in EURONAVAL, the World Naval Defence Exhibition held in Paris, France. Türkiye’s Ambassador to France, Ali Onaner, also visited the Desan stand and received information about the company’s new projects.
Operating three facilities in the Tuzla Shipyards Region, Desan Shipyard carries out ship maintenance, repair and newbuilding activities. The company participated in EURONAVAL, one of the most important events in the sector, held in Paris from October 18 to 21. Leading naval defence industry representatives, military and government navy decision-makers and commanders came together at EURONAVAL to exchange ideas, discover the latest innovations and prepare the future of their navies.
Desan Shipyard, which delivered Türkiye’s first emergency response and diving training boats to the inventory of the Turkish Naval Forces, showcased this project at EURONAVAL, along with four Fuel Ships (AGEM) currently under construction. Continuing its maintenance and repair operations as well as military newbuilding projects at full speed, Desan Shipyard presented its activities to visitors at the exhibition. Türkiye’s Ambassador to France, Ali Onaner, also visited the Desan stand and received information.
As the world’s largest naval defence industry exhibition, EURONAVAL brought together more than 700 exhibitors from 31 countries and over 30,000 visitors. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations, new projects and services in the sector. Taking part in the 28th edition of the exhibition this year, Desan attracted strong interest from visitors. The company met with leading decision-makers in the naval defence industry and held discussions on both new and ongoing projects. Held every two years and organized online in its previous edition due to the pandemic, the exhibition drew considerable attention this year.
Stating that the exhibition was busy and highly productive for the company, Cenk Kaptanoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Desan, said:
“As DESAN Shipyard, we continue our activities with the level of competence required to undertake all kinds of military and commercial shipbuilding projects for both domestic and international markets. This exhibition is of great importance in terms of bringing our work together with the global defence industry and carrying Türkiye’s regional strength to global markets. In addition to EURONAVAL, we try to take part in all major trade fairs from a commercial perspective. Through the work we carry out with both local and international partners, we aim to represent our country in the best possible way and deliver even more successful projects.”
